A Great Day to be a Giants Fan

You'd think, three and a half seasons in, I'd be used to seeing Tim Lincecum making the entire National League look like the merest of chumps. Nope. It's still amazing. He tossed an awe-inspiring gem today that was up there with the best I've ever seen from him. Seven innings, three hits, one earned run, a walk, and thirteen strikeouts. His next ten-strikeout game will tie him with no less a pitching authority than Christy Mathewson for most such games in franchise history.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Giants looked just fine on defense for the second time this season, which is comforting considering they were playing in cavernous Petco Park. Huff, Posey, and Sandoval picked up a combined 9 hits and 7 RsBI. Brandon "The Golden Child" Belt snapped a minor slump and picked up his third and fourth major league hits. The bullpen could use some work, but for one glorious day, the Giants looked like world champs and then some.

Note: The San Francisco Giants are the reigning World Series Champions.
