Also, did you see this part of the game? --- As for Verlander, now 1-2, it can't be said he pitched a strong game. It also can't be said he pitched he pitched badly. But like the strange throw he made to the plate in the fifth -- not a pitch, not a toss, not really anything he's ever done before -- Verlander came up with a performance that was difficult to define. After much deliberation by the umpires, the pitch was called a balk -- but it was committed in Verlander's attempt to avoid a balk after a bad turn to make a throw to first. "My thought was 'Hey, maybe if I throw home, they won't call anything,' " he said. --
Yeah, that play was fucking weird. Verlander knew he was about to get called for a balk and so he just threw the damn ball anyway in an attempt to keep that eventuality from coming to fruition. It was the weirdest damned thing. Basically he panicked. It was like OH SHIT DID I ... ? YEAH I DID WAIT YOU CAN STILL SAVE IT JUST THROW IT JUSTIN THROW IT THROW THE DAMN BALL! and then the umps were all lololol what the fuck was that and basically had to make up a rule for it on the spot because no one had ever seen anything quite like it before. Baseball!
Also, I had a bunch of shit about that monkey and his motivations and it made a lot of sense, at least to me, but apparently Blogger disagreed since when I hit Post Comment a message popped up saying that Blogger was unable to fill my request, which was probably Blogger trying to save me from myself. We'll see if that happens again. If you're reading this, then success! If you're not, well then how are you getting these thoughts from me? GET OUT OF MY HEAD YOU FOUL BEAST!
Anyway, I love that monkey and really, that's all that matters, isn't it?
I also posted a pic of a monkey in my last Armchair Linebacker post, so maybe that's what you're thinking of. Fuck it, I don't know, there have been a lot of monkeys. But that's just life I guess.
A collar fitting that tightly over the tie is not a great look. I only point this out because otherwise this monkey has got it pretty together.
