Twins 7, Blue Jays 1: Yikes, And Yet . . .

this was more or less the size of it

A Daulton Varsho home run is not nothing—it is demonstrably something!—but beyond that, this one was just a whole lot of "serving it up" and "kicking it around" and really any number of three-word phrases that do not auger well for one's chances on a chilly evening in the Twin Cities. However! I have always found the ballpark in Minneapolis to be particularly lovely, ever since first encountering it on either television or in MLB 10: The Show (I can't remember which happened first? also: Joe Mauer on the cover; there's more Twins content for you right there), and on this night the Twins were wearing by far their most æsthetic jersies (the cream ones) and hats (the classic interlocked "T C" logo that they inexplicable forsake for an utterly generic "M" too often these days), and the light at first pitch and the earliest innings was beautiful. Not much else to recommend this one though, I suppose, aside from how Vladdy got another hit, as the march to three-thousand continues—just one thousand, eight-hundred and eight-three to go! Let's enjoy all of them! Should we be spared!
