On the same day the Blue Jays announced they were going to a six-man rotation (and so, necessarily, one fewer reliever), Trey Yesavage tweaked his knee warming up for the third inning and left the game pretty abruptly. It was regrettable, certainly, but at the same time this unfortunate occurrence afforded young Chad "Dad Chalice" Dallas, in just his third big-league appearance, a dare-to-be-great moment. I was stoked for him! And for the early returns! The earliest ones, anyway! In the fullness of time, Dallas got lit up for six runs (all very much earned) on seven hits and four walks in just three innings, including a three-run home run from Taylor Trammell, a day after Trammell had home-run trotted around the bases in a painful misapprehension, having failed to discern Myles Straw's leaping catch at the wall as having been successful; it was a second-hand embarrassment moment that I found I could only feel bad about (not even the slightest chuckle over here). Straw, actually, has had quite a series so far: two-for-three with a double and a triple last night, two-for-three with a double the night before. Although I doubt that he will necessarily continue to hit .666 whilst racking up extra base hits consistently throughout the remainder of the season, maybe being the everyday starting centre fielder will suit him well! Perhaps he can keep it going in Wednesday's getaway-day game (getaway day-game?)? Might the Blue Jays win their third-straight series? It's not inconceivable! Not entirely!
