If you don't already know Roger Angell either as the author of the best things in the New Yorker ever or as the guy who didn't get nearly enough airtime in Ken Burns' Baseball, know him now as the godfather of both baseball feelings broadly, in that he has felt them and expressed them as perfectly as they can be felt and expressed, and Baseball Feelings specifically, in that in 2009 at the age of fucking eighty-nine Roger Angell wrote something at the NYer website about what the word on the blogs was re: Joba Chamberlain. The word on the blogs? God damn, Roger Angell is plugged in, I thought, and, inspired by that example, here we are a mere two years later with a blog of our own. I give you, in its entirety, "The Interior Stadium," after what Roger Angell would definitely know to call "the jump" because, once again, Roger Angell is plugged in.
