Dylan Cease? More like Dealin' Cease for those first four innings of efficient one-run baseball, right everybody? The fifth got lightly away from him, though, and the Red Sox, now coached by almost entirely new guys, added two, and then another in the sixth, and that really was about the size of it, as the Blue Jays managed just two hits off the mercurial (in performance; in terms of temperament he seems fairly steady) Ranger Suarez (doubles by first Jésus Sanchez on a little "excuse me" swing, as they say, and then another from a pinch-hitting Daulton Varsho in the ninth [good cut, Varsh; attaboy]). This one just whizzed by, and felt even faster than its actual two-hours-and-thirty-minutes. Even when we lose, I cannot help but respect a baseball game that respects the audience's time. And so I am fine.
