Brewers 2, Blue Jays 1: Can't Really Just Score The One, I Suppose

I'll say this for young Abner Uribe: he's a jaunty fellow

Dylan Cease's six scoreless innings (two hits, three walks, six Ks) looked so good (league-leading moustache) that it seemed possible Jésus Sanchez's sac-fly plating of Daulton Varsho in the first might hold up. And it very nearly did, aided one inning further than it might have otherwise by Mason Fluharty and Braydon Fisher, who combined for a suitably nifty seventh. But Tyler Rogers—who has been tremendous so far, and whose style leads to a good deal of soft contact—got BABIP'd to bits, and was granted no boon, surely, by young Brandon Valenzuela's split-second decision to let a little dribbler dribble lightly in the hopes that it might dribble lightly foul (it did not) rather than seek the relatively easy out at first (which really could have used, as it turned out). But a 2-1 loss is never really on the pitching and/or defense, is it? One would hope to mash, or to have already mashed, such that the first two runs of the Brewers' night would not prove definitive. Ah, but so it goes. Another really good game in Milwaukee, played at a brisk pace (2h26min) that demonstrated respect for how the viewing audience might want to watch at least a portion of a movie later in the evening. My thanks to all involved.
